Comic Sans Appreciation #3
I hear you: Helvetica is too overplayed. Futura is too sterile and too hipster. Then Comic Sans Appreciation #3 is the shirt for you.
It pays homage to the most reviled typefaces of our times with Myriad, a real font for designers. It’s one of Adobe’s prize properties, used extensively in advertising and branding, yet the name is fairly among those who’ve never burned off a few hours wrestling with Illustrator.

![So someone over at the Expandrive blog drew up some Fake Foursquare Badges.
We just figured we put them on some t-shirts for you. Just in case.

![The Toothless Snake
Unless you’ve been living under a rock since the ‘08 election, this little guy ought to look familiar to you. He’s from the Gadsden flag, presented to the leadership of pre-revolutionary America as symbol of the colonies’ struggle against their overbearing British masters.
It’s undergone some pretty unhealthy usage in recent times by people who seem to have a much broader definition of “tread” than the Founding Fathers. A few months back, I redesigned the flag to better reflect the obvious ridiculousness of its use in Tea Bag Party protests.
Now you can buy it as a t-shirt. Also available in a yellow version that holds much more closely to the redesigned flag, including the grass and “DONT HOLD ME ACCOUNTABLE” motto.

![Second Prize is a Set of Steak Knives
Tired of “Coffee is for Closers Only”? “Always Be Closing”? “AIDA”? Longing for Glengarry Glen Ross shirts that don’t look like they were drawn in Microsoft Paint?
But this stylish t-shirt is as much a personal snipe at the pay-enough-not-to-quit / work-enough-not-to-get-fired reality of the modern workplace as it is a coy reference to Alec Baldwin’s finest performance.
You’re not busting your ass for the El Dorado just so Mitch and Murray can buy their 3rd wives another penthouse. You’ll settle for the paycheck, the steak knives, and a life. You know—”Mostly Be Closing”.
This shirt lets you say that without looking bad or getting fired.
And for the Levines of the world, we have a cheap version, too.

![Comic Sans Appreciation #2
So you saw Comic Sans Appreciation #1, but it still wasn’t quite what you were looking for. And I can understand that. Airplanes, restroom signs, see-through leotards—it’s not without a sense of irony that I note the latest Helvetica-inspired creation is a cookie cutter.
But Comic Sans Appreciation #2 has your back. Printed in a stylish, unencumbered Futura, it exudes a familiar air of sophistication but keeps you from looking like everyone else on the block.
Unless, of course, your last name is Tenenbaum.

![The Tell-Tale R
We all know the story—Arial is the sloppy man’s Hevletica. And nowhere is this more evident than the capital R.
Helvetica’s gracefully curving leg paradoxically makes the glyph more balanced in the rectangular spacing it fills. Arial’s leg is more a flaccid dong, tacked on as a sloppy afterthought.
Every time I see the big Arial R on a display—especially for a fashion boutique—I cringe a little. It’s a merciless imp, making the world less awesome. Wear the shirt and spread the word.

![BetterShirts.org Best-Selling Shirt on Spreadshirt for 1/20/10
No one bothered to tell us, but apparently our “I Voted for Mike Capuano” shirt was the best-selling piece of apparel on all of Spreadshirt on January 20th—that’s pretty cool!
For those who don’t know, Mike Capuano is the Representative of Massachusetts’ 8th district, composing a good chunk of Boston and the surrounding towns of Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, Chelsea,
The Somerville-born, Dartmouth-educated Capuano finished second to Martha Coakley in the Democratic primary, but consensus among Boston-area pundits is that the fiery, down-to-earth Congressman would have fared far better against Scott Brown in the general election.
